Chain Behind Neck Dip Bar NO-NO

I recently saw three gym members doing dips with a heavy chain behind the neck.  I warned them that this exercise was very risky and could result in damage to the disks in the cervical spine (neck).  About two weeks later one of them came to me and offered a big "YOU TOLD ME SO."  He had developed a bulging disk that was impinging on a nerve, had significant pain and loss of strength.
